LASS MONTHLY MEETING SCHEDULE FOR 2010
Keeping up with the meeting schedule for 2009 turned out to be quite a problem. Weather dealt us a bad hand especially on the dates we wanted to meet. Statewide star parties claimed a few of our regular dates but we tried to work around those events. Trying to support an astronomy program at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center also made the schedule a little shakey. We did manage to get in a few good evenings at the LASS observing site and we hope to do a better job this year with our scheduling events. One of the changes will be a quartly schedule. Initially the schedule will show January thru April and then additional dates will be posted as soon as possible. Hopefully, this will help prevent schedule changes and will allow interested parties to plan for our events.
The schedule is basically driven by the phases of the moon so unless otherwise noted, meetings will be on SATURDAY NIGHTS. MEETINGS BEGIN ABOUT 30 MINUTES BEFORE DUSK AND NORMALLY END AROUND 11:30PM. In the event weather seems to be a limiting factor to observing, each individual should determine if they want to come out for the meeting. Alternate programs WILL NOT be planned for those nights.

Members of LASS are planning an overnight outing at Ft Griffin Historical site. This will replace the regular LASS meeting for 10 July There is a possible alternate meeting set for July 17 at the regular LASS site. |

There are several state wide star parties that are usually held in the fall so there may be some adjustment in the LASS schedule to accommodate any of our members desiring to attend one of these events. LASS also hopes to plan a field trip to a remote location at least one time during the year. However, not during the winter months!!
